We only collect the data we need to operate Hugo and improve the experience.
Data you provide

• Name, email and password (hashed) when you create an account

• Brand, catalog and marketing information you upload or enter into Hugo

• Messages you send to our team (support, feedback, requests)

• Billing and subscription information managed through our payment provider

Data collected automatically

• IP address, device type, browser

• Actions inside the product (feature usage, clicks, timestamps)

• Performance logs and error reports

• Basic analytics that help us understand usage trends

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.3. How We Use Your Data
We process personal data so Hugo can function and improve. Specifically:

• To create and manage your account

• To deliver features (trend discovery, brand analysis, brief creation, planning, etc.)

• To understand usage and improve product quality

• To secure our infrastructure and prevent abuse

• To send service emails (onboarding, feature updates, security alerts)

• To handle subscriptions, billing and payments

We do not sell your data.
 We do not use your workspace content to train general models without your consent.

4. AI Providers & Third Parties
To power certain features, Hugo uses trusted AI and infrastructure providers (e.g. Google Cloud, OpenAI, Gemini).
 We only send the minimum required data to generate the requested output.
Providers are not allowed to train their models on your data.
We also use subprocessors for:

• hosting & storage

• analytics

• customer support

• billing

All subprocessors follow strict contractual and security requirements.

5. Data Location & Security
Hugo is primarily hosted in the EU/EEA.
We use industry-standard security practices:

• Encryption in transit and at rest

• Role-based access control

• Secure development and dependency scanning

• Logging, monitoring, anomaly detection

• Regular backups and recovery processes

No system is perfect, but we work continuously to keep Hugo safe.

6. Your Rights
If you live in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to:

• Correct inaccurate data

• Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)

• Restrict or object to certain processing

When you close your account or request deletion:

• Workspace content is deleted or anonymized within 30–60 days

• Backups expire based on our retention policy

You can request deletion at any time.

• Keep you signed in

• Improve performance

• Understand site traffic and product usage
